My wife is retiring soon laugh and is interested in a non-computerized sewing machine to add to her corral.  I suggested maybe an industrial machine might work for her.   She does quilting, clothing, and occasional drapery.  The features she is most interested in is upper feed / walking foot,  variable speed (especially "slow"), and reverse.  Any thoughts on a suitable machine?

I have an old Pfaff, mod. 138 zig zag that can accomplish all your wife asks for and more. The variable speed aspect would be controlled by her foot. It's approx. 30 yrs old and is just now gettin' broke in. If you could pick one up in your area she would ride out retirement in merriment.

Not to hijack this thread and seeing its old I guess it won't matter much. Hope you found the Mrs. her machine.

I got a taste of sticker shock looking for a machine this week. I remember my Dad buying our Pfaff 145 for around 500 bucks back in the late 60s. Man that was allot of $$. Worst part of that was I left it in NY, gave it away and now I need another. Settled for a Consew for 925.00 Hope it fill the bill  Undecided

I am still in need of more things. Will post in another thread  Wink
