Just wanted to offer you all an invitation to enter projects in our annual Design & Craftsmanship Awards contest.

The awards provide a platform for upholsterers to show off their work and unique talents. A panel of professional upholsterers judges projects on difficulty, craftsmanship and creativity. Winners are published in the magazine, and case study-type stories are sometimes published throughout the year about any entries we receive. It’s a great marketing tool for your business, to “seal the deal,” so to speak, with a potential customer or to persuade them further.

You can download an entry form here: www.upholsteryjournalmag.com/awards2010. Entries can be e-mailed to me at krfrush@ifai.com, just please include all the information on the entry form and upload a few high-resolution photos to our FTP site: www.ifai.com/upload. (Photos could also be e-mailed to me, but please break them up into a few different messages so they don’t overload my inbox.) You can also check out winners from the past two years under the Projects tab on our website.

This is my favorite time of year because the projects that come in are always so cool, plus it’s really valuable to readers. But entries have been slow-going this year, so I need your help. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask it here or e-mail me personally.

The deadline is March 19. We’re talking about extending the deadline, and I’ll update here if that happens. Winners will be published in the August/September issue.

Good to hear from you Kelly!   I had forgotten about this -- I guess my subscription expired...  I'll  check and get it renewed...   and look see what I might have that might be  interesting.

THANKS for the reminder!

I'm not finding NoJoke as a member, unless he's under a different username, but found Joy with this one: http://upholsteryjournalmag.com/articles/0809_dc6.html

I was looking at the plaid chair by Tom Werner  (great job by the way)

he said he used the
"pattern location indicators on the roll of fabric"
