The Jack of all Trades and the Master of None!

WWW
« on: August 10, 2005, 08:12:42 PM »

I have created this board as suggested by one of our members.  However, I am not going to put it in the Pro or Paid Pro section.  If you have something to sell, not everyone that might be interested in buying it will necesarily be a Pro yet.

This board is only for individuals to sell their own personal collection of tools, equipment or supplies.  Any post that appear to be from a supplier will be removed.

If you list items here and the item sells, please remove the topic or contact me and I'll remove the topic for you.

This board will remain unless it gets abused and too difficult to monitor.  I hope it helps some of you out there.

Am interested in an Handy junior button machine. I live in Ontario, Canada, just North of London. I can buy the dies here, but the machines I have to order through the States anyway. Doesn't have to be new, as long as it works well.

If anyone has one give me an idea of price and shipping and I will get back to you. Thanks All.

Love the site, happy to see that their is an invested, interested and very professional group of people who are maintaining our past and giving people the options to hang onto the furniture they have, rather than buying the new and improved disposable stuff out there.
In our area a good Upholsterer is hard to find. I was fortunate to be trained by European apprenticed craftsmen from a melting pot of countries from Great Britain, Russia, The former Czechoslovakia, Holland, the list goes on. All of the above have since retired or passed on now. I continue to try to retain their sense of professionalism in my work and it is very obvious by looking trough your demonstrations from the Upholstery Trade Fair and online Q and A's that you all are as well.

Anyway, happy to become a small part of this community, great to find you, eh!

Thanks Mooner

I don't know if you will see this in time, but here's one on E-Bay that only has a couple hours left:

Mooner, other brand machines will accommodate Handy button dies.  Some are obsolete, but good machines if you can find them:

Wade
CS Osborne
Defiance
Maxant
C & C Metal / Dynaline

Found a Defiance machine with cutters and dies for a good price.

That is very good news!  Although Defiance is obsolete (they broke up in the 1980's), the working dimensions are identical to modern Osborne and Dynaline machines.  This means you can purchase grommet, snap, and ventilator dies that will fit your Defiance machine.
